The Power Prep Hockey League (PPHL) is proud to congratulate Emma-Joan Lawton of King’s-Edgehill School on her commitment to play NCAA Division III women’s hockey at Castleton University.
A member of the PPHL Girls Division, Lawton has been a key part of the King’s-Edgehill program for the past three seasons, appearing in 108 career games as a Highlander. During her time with the program, she has continued to develop into a reliable and impactful player in all areas of the game.
In addition to her success on the ice, Lawton has excelled as a multi-sport athlete at King’s-Edgehill School. She has competed at the provincial level in cross-country and was also a member of the school’s rugby team that captured the SSNS Provincial Championship last season.
“I am extremely excited to announce my commitment to Castleton,” said Lawton. “This has been a goal of mine ever since I was little to play university hockey. I want to say thank you to my parents, coaches, and friends who have helped me achieve this.”
King’s-Edgehill head coach Cameron Scott praised Lawton’s growth and dedication throughout her time in the program.
“Emma-Joan has been with the program for three seasons and has continued to improve in every asset of her game,” Scott said. “Her work ethic and willingness to learn and adapt has made her a key contributor in both offensive and defensive situations for us. It makes us very proud to see her earning the opportunity to continue to play at the university level as she is just scratching the surface of her potential.”
The PPHL congratulates Emma-Joan Lawton, her family, coaches, and King’s-Edgehill School on this exciting milestone and looks forward to following her continued success at Castleton University.
