Guilford, Conn., - The third stop of the Power Prep Hockey League’s boys conference unfolds in the Constitution State when the final jousting for playoff position takes place at the International Skating Center in Simsbury Jan. 26-28 following the best the PPHL has to offer squaring off during the second annual All-Star Games at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield a night earlier.

The state-of-the-art, $75 million Matire Family Arena, which opened just 12 months ago, will be the setting for both the Jan. 25 16U and 18U PPHL All-Star Games on the university’s west campus. The 3,600-seat facility, which serves as the home of the Sacred Heart Division 1 men’s and women’s hockey programs as well as the Pioneers nationally recognized figure skating squad, can’t help but enrich the All-Star experience for Power Prep Hockey League’s top talent.

The 16U contest will drop the puck first at 6:15 p.m. followed by the 18U game at 8:15 p.m. Captains for the Black and Beige squads were selected by being the first overall draft pick for both teams. Coaches for the first- through fourth-place clubs following December’s second showcase event drafted players nominated by each club to create the All-Star rosters.

Boston Hockey Academy’s Nikita Mikhailov (5-6—11) and Lucas Marshall (2-6—8) of American Hockey Academy will captain the 16U PPHL All-Star clubs. Meanwhile, for the 18U Division, Elite Hockey Academy forward standouts Egor Osipik (5-10—15) and Chris Lussier (2-8—10) will wear the “C” for the Black and Beige squads.

At the 16U level, coaches Russ DeMariano (American Hockey Academy) and Peter Alden (Elite Hockey Academy) will command the visitors bench, while Tim Veach (Gilmour Academy) and Nate Bostic (Boston Hockey Academy) will direct the home club. For the 18U contest, DeMariano and Alden will again coach the visiting squad, while Brent Loney (Ontario Hockey Academy) and Mike Chiellino (Gilmour Academy) will coach the home squad.
