NEW MEMBER: The Hill Academy

Guilford, Conn., - The Power Prep Hockey League (PPHL), and the Board of Directors are proud to announce the addition of The Hill Academy for the upcoming 2023-2024 season.  

The Hill Academy 18U Head Coach, Travis Wight stated, “We are very fortunate for the opportunity to join the PPHL. The competition and exposure of the league is something our institution, players, and families are going to be extremely excited about! Can’t wait for the season to start!”

The Hill Academy was founded in 2006 by the Merrill family, for “dedicated student-athletes.  In September 2020 The Hill Academy moved into its new campus on the 134-acre former SGI Canada Caledon Centre for Culture and Education near Alton in Caledon, Ontario.  The Hill Academy offers a curriculum to student-athletes in grades 5 -12. It also offers a post-graduate year called "The Breakaway Year," with a stated goal of raising the profile of student-athletes in order to open doors for their future.

The Hill Academy becomes the fifth Academy team to represent Canada, that is combining a focused approach to intensive on-ice training and skill development, professional coaching, all in an academic environment in which their student athletes have the ability to thrive at the next level.



The Hill Academy has also had tremendous success in player advancement as they have over 25 alumni currently playing in the NHL, 20 alumni playing in the OHL, 15 first round OHL Draft picks and over 65 alumni that have received Division I hockey scholarships.
